Happy Easter

We enjoyed a wonderful Easter lunch and egg hunt at Ammie's DD's house. Kingston had lots of fun playing out in the yard. At first when we went out to take pictures, Kingston didn't see any eggs (because we hadn't hid them yet) so he decided to collect sticks! I think he would have been just as happy with sticks to take home as he was with the prizes DD had for the kids! DD had made special cupcakes. Kingston ate the red egg and mommy ate the yellow chick!
Thanks DD for opening your home to our family!

Egg Hunt

What a beautiful day we had to hunt Easter Eggs with our friends from church! Kingston even sat on the Easter Bunny's lap this year! After hunting for eggs and eating them, we enjoyed a picnic lunch with the Spellings and Jennings. The kids had a great time running around and playing together!

Mommy and Daddy even got their picture taken with the Easter Bunny!

Kingston enjoys his spoils.

Kingston is deciding if he really wants to share his candy with Daddy.

Kingston poses with his friends. I think he is more interested in getting into the candy in his basket!

Silver Dollar City

We braved the crowds and headed to Silver Dollar City for opening day! It was the busiest that we had ever seen. We parked in a parking lot miles from the park and had to wait for six school buses to load up before it was our turn! We had a great time though. My mom and I both agreed that just being able to walk in and smell the yummy smells made it worth the wait!

The funniest part of the whole trip came on the way home. We were driving back to West Plains from Branson and we were in the middle of nowhere. From the backseat I hear "Mommy, I need to go potty!" So I ask Kingston, "Can you wait for a gas station or do I need to pull over?" Most of you who know me, know that I was praying he would say I can wait. But no! He needs to go now! So we pull over in an abandon drive way on the side of the road and I'm thinking he just needs to pee pee. But wrong again! He needs to GO not once, but twice!!! Wow! It was quite an experience. The whole time I'm wondering, Why didn't I bring his potty????

Kingston was fascinated with the water wheel.

Kingston was cracking us up while he was riding the ladybugs. He was singing his heart out the whole time he was riding. I sure wish I knew what he was singing!!!

Spring Break

We enjoyed Spring Break at Mimi and Pops' house this past week! Mimi was ready for Kingston! She had an Easter Party all set up for him. He enjoyed hunting for eggs (with pennies in them), opening his Easter Basket, and making bunny cookies! Once again we had "the best Easter party ever!"

We celebrated Pops' birthday too! Kingston, Mimi, and I made cupcakes. Mimi made homemade cake batter and iced the cupcakes and Kingston and I were in charge of the sprinkles. Kingston really wanted to help Pops blow out the candle. We could only find a big candle, but it worked out just fine! I think Kingston is really ready for HIS birthday!!!

The Best Easter Party

Well the day of the big Easter Party finally arrived! Before the party even started, Kingston informed Miss Amy that it was the best Easter Party EVER! Then he went around his classroom singing his song. (See previous blog to hear the song!) He had a great time hunting for eggs, eating snacks, and playing games! I was told he is a very competitive Easter Egg Hunter! I wonder who he gets that from????

Snow

I know, I know. Everyone has been wondering "Where are the Barbers' snow pictures?" Well, Kingston was enjoying the snow with Gimme Mama and Grandpa! Gimme Mama was sweet enough to make me a cd of her pictures so everyone could see Kingston having fun in the snow!

Making footprints in the snow!

Catching snowflakes with your tongue is so much fun!

Look mom! I picked a daffodil just for you!

Kingston enjoyed warming up by the fire after a fun afternoon in the snow.

The Zoo Again

The weather in Memphis was beautiful today! We joined several of our friends for a fun day at the zoo. Kingston found a leaf and was very obsessed with keeping track of it while we were there. Unfortunately, he realized on the way home he only had his stick and he had lost his leaf. I had to explain to him that we could get another leaf on the next visit. It is so sweet to see how much Kingston loves nature. We all had to sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat while we were in the boat! Kingston was the ring leader of getting the song started!

Easter Song

Kingston has been ready for Easter ever since he got a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD for Christmas about Mickey's Best Easter Party! The time is finally drawing closer and Kingston is going around the house singing the Easter Party song and setting up his own Easter Party!

A Baking Lesson-Carrying on the Tradition

Kingston is a great helper! He really enjoys being in the kitchen while I'm cooking. I can remember my mom teaching me to make raisin bread when we had snow days! Well, we didn't quite have a snow day today, but I was in the mood for bread. So today we had a lesson in making bread. Kingston is an expert dough puncher!! That used to be my favorite part too! I wish we had some pictures from the actual baking process (think flour everywhere) but it slipped my mind. Here's the end product. Kingston was very proud of his accomplishment!

PS:Thanks Aunt Amy for the awesome apron!

Kitty Goes to School

Kingston came into my room this morning and announced that kitty was going to school. When I asked him why, he stated matter of factly "Kitty is my best friend." I guess that's explanation enough!

2 Year Old Logic

We are driving home from eating tonight and I hear this slurping sound in the back seat. I ask Chris "What is that noise?" Chris says "Kingston and his toes!" So here's the rest of the conversation with Kingston...

Mommy: What are you doing?
Kingston: I'm kissing my toes. (He had taken his sock and shoe off.)
Mommy: Why are you kissing your toes?
Kingston: Because I'm sad.
Mommy Why are you sad?
Kingston: Because I'm thirsty.

I guess everyone should know that I left his water bottle at the restaurant. He had been asking for a drink all the way home. I had to remind him at least 5 times that I didn't have his drink. So he informed us it was a sad, sad day because he couldn't have a drink from his water bottle!
Kingston loves to play the piano. Here he is creating a special song!

We love the zoo!

We always have lots of fun with Ammie at the zoo. We started our frequent trips with her almost a year ago. They both have grown so much. Here they are a year ago and then today...

It seems like only yesterday we were making our first trip to the zoo. It's now two years later and Kingston has changed so much. One thing that hasn't changed, he still LOVES the animals! Here he is two years ago and then today...
